Search Engine Optimization (or SEO) is the process of fine tuning your website so that it performs favorably in search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing. This involves marketing your websites to other websites of a similar nature in order to garner links from them, writing page content in a way that highlights particular keywords or subjects, and making sure that there aren't any coding errors that would cause your site to perform poorly.

There are a lot of illegal tactics to produce a short-term improvement in rankings, but long-term search engines will alter their ranking systems to punish sites using those methods, or in some cases black list them altogether.
